Please note that donations to AFDOP are not tax-deductible, since we lobby legislators. While your donation isn't a tax write-off, it is a great investment in creating a culture of peace!

AFDOP is a grassroots organization of individual citizens like you. We all donate our time. Sometimes, the effort requires more than just our time, though. Sometimes it requires money. To obtain space for an AFDOP outreach table at events like the annual San Diego EarthFair in Balboa Park or the La Mesa Oktoberfest, etc., AFDOP must pay exhibitor fees. Our exhibitor fee to participate in the EarthFair on April 20, 2008 was $296.00!)   It's expensive, and worth it, because we reach many people and effectively get the Department of Peace message out to people who are likely to champion it. At this year's EarthFair, over 160 people signed up to receive our newsletters and get involved.

This is what it takes to build grassroots support that influences legislators who pass our laws.

In addition to exhibiting at public events, AFDOP has ongoing expenses for supplies, postage, fees to host this web site, etc.
