"It isn't enough to
talk about peace.
One must believe in it.
And it isn't enough to believe in it.
Once must work at it."

WALK FOR PEACE:
Sunday, September 17th, 2006 from 9 am to 12 pm
Celebrate International Culture of Peace Month.
Help create a culture of peace!
Please join us in this Fun-Filled, Family-Friendly, Pro-Peace event!
We're planning a special gathering after the walk:
picnic, music and more...
Peace-Flags will be created at a table sponsored by Peace Flags By Kids
The Walk will be followed by TWO HOURS of entertainment featuring:
Cahill & Delene, Moon With No Sky, Thia Muilenburg,
Veronica May, The Soka Jazz Band, Kids For Peace
plus two drumming groups: Goro-Goro and
"MMANNDDALLA" - drummerswithoutborders
WHO:
YOU, your friends, and others ready to walk to promote
a more peaceful world.
WHAT:
A new twist on the traditional walk-a-thon fundraiser!
WHY: To come together for
peace and to raise awareness and money to support the national grassroots
campaign to create a Department
Legislation is currently before the House (H.R. 3756) and
Senate (S.1756) to create a Cabinet-level Department of Peace that would
research, facilitate and articulate nonviolent solutions to domestic and
international conflict. The Department of Peace would be led by a Secretary
of Peace and include a Peace Academy on par with current military service
academies. You can help bring this vision to reality. Participate today!
